Exploring Bali Beach Clubs

This was our fourth time on the island, but it was our first time exploring some Bali beach clubs. With a 28-day stay ahead of us, we decided to take a more relaxed approach, skipping a rigid itinerary and making weekly plans. We’re past that phase when we quickly visit as many places as possible. Tito and Tita na kami, kumbaga. LOL. Plus, we have our young cubs with us.

According to online reviews, several other beach clubs are more beautiful and perhaps better than those we visited. There’s Potato Head in Seminyak, Sundays and Karma Beach Club in Uluwatu, and much more! We opted for ones close to our Airbnb in Canggu. This led us to discover Café del Mar, Vue Beach Club, Manarai Beach House, and La Brisa. Each offered a unique experience, especially for our family of five, plus my senior mom.

I will write separate posts detailing our experience at each beach club, but in the meantime, here’s a rundown of our visits.

Café del Mar

Location: Jl. Subak Sari, Canggu, Bali
Website: cafedelmarbali.id
Operating Hours: 11 AM – 10 PM (daily)
Entry Fee: IDR 400,000 – 1,000,000 per person, depending on the seating area.
Book Now: Cafe del Mar Beach Club in Canggu Bali Daypass

Café del Mar was the first beach club we visited and our favorite. It has modern Mediterranean vibes and a laid-back yet lively ambiance, ideal for relaxing and enjoying lively beats as the evening rolls in. The infinity pool overlooks the ocean with an unblocked view, which was hard to beat. Although it’s pricier than the other beach clubs, the quality of food and service made it worth every Rupiah.

Adding to our experience, Canggu was holding its annual kite festival just in front of the beach club during the day of our visit, giving us an extra treat of watching giant kites soar in the sky. It was a beautiful sight, especially for our Water kids. The only thing I didn’t like about this beach club is that it doesn’t have direct access to the beach unless you jump over the pool.

There’s a minimum spend of IDR 2,000,000 to use one of their grass daybeds.

Vue Beach Club

Location: Jl. Pantai Berawa, Canggu, Bali
Website: lv8bali.com/vue-beach-club/
Operating Hours: 7 AM – 11 PM (daily)
Entry Fee: IDR 150,000 – 300,000 per person
Book Now: Vue Beach Club Ticket in Canggu

Our second stop was Vue Beach Club, which is inside the complex of the Lv8 Resort Hotel. It is just beside Café del Mar but with a slightly different vibe. The pool here is larger, which was a hit with the kids, but as Ilog pointed out, the water was a bit murky. Despite this, the club had a lively atmosphere, and the food was quite affordable compared to Café del Mar and La Brisa.

Vue Beach Club felt more casual and less strict with rules. And while it didn’t quite match the elegance of Café del Mar, it was still a fun spot to spend the day. The kids enjoyed their time here, and the more budget-friendly menu was a nice bonus. I also liked that you can go to the beach without going around the complex.

We got to use two of their round beds for a minimum spend of IDR 1,200,000.

La Brisa

Location: Jl. Pantai Batu Mejan, Canggu, Bali
Website: labrisa-bali.com
Operating Hours: 12 PM – 11 PM (daily)
Entry Fee: IDR 150,000 – 400,000 per person

La Brisa is known for its bohemian charm and eco-friendly design. We came here just for dinner, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite meet our expectations. The place was extremely crowded, making relaxing and enjoying the evening hard.

While the vibrant atmosphere and lively crowd might not have been the best fit for our family, La Brisa is clearly an excellent spot for younger guests and those looking for a lively and social vibe. While the food was good, it was insanely expensive.

It was fully booked when we decided to try La Brisa, so we were placed at a table far from the action. We spent IDR 1,300,000 for our “dinner.” Hindi kami nabusog or natinga. LOL.

Manarai Beach House

Location: Kawasan Pariwisata Nusa Dua Lot N5, Nusa Dua, Bali
Website: sofitelbalinusadua.com/food-beverages/manarai-beach-house/
Operating Hours: 9 AM – 10 PM (daily)
Entry Fee: IDR 200,000 – 500,000 per person

Our last beach club was Manarai Beach House in Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua. Our friends, who went to Bali to bike around Kintamani for a day, came with us. Manarai is small compared to the others, but it has a cozy and intimate feel that we appreciate. The setting was perfect for unwinding after a long day.

Our experience was slightly marred by the non-stop foam/bubble gun spraying into our food and belongings. It’s a fun feature for kids, but it’s something to be mindful of when trying to enjoy a meal. It’s a great spot, but we would have preferred a little less foam.

A minimum spend of IDR 1,000,000 is required to use one of their daybeds.

Our Bali beach club experience was fun. Each spot offered something unique. Café del Mar was our favorite, providing a good balance of luxury, fun, and relaxation. Although they had their quirks, Vue Beach Club and Manarai Beach House were also enjoyable. La Brisa, while popular among younger crowds, didn’t quite align with our family’s vibe, plus it’s mahal.

If you plan to visit these clubs, consider what you and your family are looking for—a laid-back day by the pool, a lively party atmosphere, or a cozy spot to unwind. Bali has something for everyone!
